Welcome to Flagstone State School, which is located 9km from the centre of Jimboomba in the ever-growing Flagstone Estate. I am honoured to be principal of Flagstone State School with over 900 students enrolled from Prep to Year 6. Staff work to ensure all students receive quality education, and that their opportunity for success is maximised within a safe and supportive school learning environment.
A supportive learning environment is achieved with classroom teachers leading their students, along with the support of our Inclusion teachers, teacher aides, family support worker, guidance officer, Chaplain, early years family support co-ordinator and clinical nurse, who currently works on a Thursday. Flagstone State School is a Positive Behaviour School (PBS) and we focus on being safe, respectful, responsible and being an active learner. Our school emblem is a kookaburra symbolising the many native birds on our site and it's splash of teal reflective in our unique school uniform.
We have a strong focus on providing opportunities for students to realise their potential through educational achievement; wellbeing and engagement; and culture and inclusion. Flagstone State School takes pride on the delivery of a personalised education for students recognising their prior knowledge and individual learning needs. We recognise our roles as citizens in our school and commit to making connections locally, nationally, and internationally. We actively communicate with each other, with students, with parents and our wider school community. We bring creative and critical thinking skills to our daily work by pursuing problem solving and turning ideas into action and by experimenting and reflecting. We focus on character and teachers' model empathy, compassion, and integrity. We are purposeful in our collaboration where we work, learn, and achieve together. Our dance, music, and sporting experiences also provide extra curricula opportunities for students to shine. It is with vision and rigour, as a school that 'Together we build the future'.
