Dear Parents/Carers
I hope you had a pleasant Easter break in spite of restrictions and you and your families are well. As you will have heard school resumes next week for the students of "Essential Workers" only for 5 weeks.
Another statement will be released about the second 5 weeks of term later. In the Premier’s press release on Monday 13 April, the Premier stated: "….. that from the start of term two, all students who can learn from home are to stay at home." And: "We are committed to doing whatever it takes to slow the spread of COVID-19.”
“My message to every Queensland school community is very clear. Stay at home. Learn at home."
The second statement is the critical link between slowing the spread of the virus and students learning at home. While this will present some challenges for parents who are themselves working from home, these are not normal times and there is no business as usual. Annastasia Palaszczuk.
These arrangements allow for learning from home for the first five weeks of term two, with students who are vulnerable or whose parents are essential workers able to attend school for supervision while they undertake the same work as students learning at home. All Flagstone State School students will be contacted by teachers to facilitate their learning and should have their set work to begin on Monday.
If you have any concerns please contact the school on Monday or email and leave a message for someone to contact you.
